
Cllr. Lee Tedstone (31) was elected as Mayor of Buncrana on the 15th of June 2009, at his first meeting of Buncrana Town Council. Lee is a native of the town and is a prominent Donegal businessman. He lives at Railway Road, Buncrana, with his family.
Lee is Managing Director of Nvolve Ltd, a Letterkenny-based technology company. In 2008 he received numerous business awards, including the Irish Entrepeneur of the Year.
Speaking after his election as Mayor Cllr. Tedstone said,
"I want to drive a collaborative approach in Buncrana, where all community organisations and units come together to revitalize the town and its services.
"Buncrana traders, sports clubs, Chamber of Commerce, and community organisations must unite to invigorate the commercial and social life of our town. Buncrana Town Council must drive that agenda."
Cllr. Tedstone has proposed that new Buncrana businesses be exempted from business rates for two years.
Lee Tedstone's late father George was a member of Buncrana Town Council in the 1980s.
Cllr. Lee Tedstone topped the poll in the 2009 Buncrana Town Council elections, securing 420 first preference votes, and being elected on the first count.
